I played so much PSO 1&2 on Phantasy Star Online 2Cube

I played so much PSO 1&2 on Phantasy Star Online 2Cube. No online, solo. Or I'd play with my brother. We got over lvl 100, I think we were doing everything on the hardest mode (supreme? Please recall ) at one stage I found it interesting how at a specific difficulty all the stages changed (or at least I recall there being changes, perhaps it was only the bosses). 1 day I was being dumb and flipped Phantasy Star Online 2 off while saving. Ruined my save, broke my heart, never moved back.

Lol, my buddies were obsessed with this game only we'd personalities corrupted multiple times (cause you needed to do that weird memory card transport thing) and we would just start over each time. Despite that we had maxed out characters. Plus it was something such as Hard or Very Hard would open up more areas (such as Caves 3 didn't exist in lower difficulties) and Ultimate would change all the enemy versions. It was a neat progression system at the moment. Given my only experience with this sort of system was Diablo 2, that didn't change up anything aesthetically based on issue.

Stage span didn't impact. The phases had semi-randomized layouts (not generated randomly, but picked from a pool of potential map variations every playthrough). Ultimate Difficulty was the difficulty with modifications. Enemies gained distinct appearances and behaviours (motion and attack speed changes, new/different skills, etc). Other Traditional + Hard + Very Hard, than that were identical but with different loot tables and enemies. Ultimate slightly changed the amounts visually, but nothing significant. Is that Forest Ultimate was constantly with an beautiful orange glow applied to the level at sunset.

Phantasy Star Online 2 is. I am shocked. Not only that it took Sega eight years to eventually bring it out of Japan and SEA despite the comparative success of PSO and PSU from the Western economy, but that Microsoft of all publishers paid out of their butt for a timed exclusive launch of an eight year-old Japan exclusive to the Xbox One - a console which flopped so hard the PS4 has outsold it by two to 1. I will admit, a lot of people have been waiting for Phantasy Star Online 2 so I could see why Microsoft would be attempting to get some brownie points. The SEA model lasted a mere four years by comparison, was lacking years worth of content updates, was badly translated and also poorly maintained by Playpark. But this ship sailed years back. Anybody who seriously wanted to play Phantasy Star Online 2 would have just registered on the version's website, downloaded a fan patch and established themselves.
