Wie gewohnt kann das Aktualisierungspaket über Windows Update heruntergeladen werden. Nach der erfolgreichen Installation des Sammel-Updates meldet sich Windows 10 mit der Build-Nummer 10586.122. Irgendwelche sicherheitsrelevanten Patches sind in dem neuen Build nicht enthalten.Wo Microsoft mit dem Update unter anderem Hand angelegt hat, das ist im Bereich Energiemanagement. So sollen Windows 10 Tablets und Notebooks im Standby-Betrieb ab sofort weniger Strom verbrauchen, was sich in vielen Alltagssituationen positiv auf die Akkulaufzeit auswirken dürfte. Auch soll das Betriebssystem nun besser mit ganz unterschiedlichen Peripheriegeräten umgehen können, wobei der Softwareriese explizit Displays, Drucker und Wearables aufführt.

Im Hinblick auf die Leistung kann Samsungs neues Windows 10 Convertible allerdings nur bedingt mit der Surface Pro Reihe konkurrieren. Einen microSD-Kartenslot bietet das Gerät nicht.Zu den weiteren Ausstattungsmerkmalen des ohne Tastatur 700 Gramm leichten TabPro S gehören ein 12 Zoll großes Super-AMOLED-Display, das mit 2.160 x 1.440 Pixel auflöst, ein 5200-mAh-Akku, der für bis zu zehn Stunden Laufzeit ausreichen soll, und eine kleine Pin-Leiste, über die das Tablet die Verbindung zum Keyboard-Cover herstellt. Einen separaten Ständer wie das Surface Pro 4 hat das Samsung-Gerät nicht, zum Aufstellen wird daher die Abdeckung der Tastatur genutzt.Ebenfalls anders als beim Surface Pro 4 kommt das TabPro S ohne Digitalisierstift daher, ein solcher ist aber optional erhältlich, wird über Bluetooth mit dem Tablet verbunden und unterstützt 1024 unterschiedliche Druckstufen.
