Beim Prozessor haben Interessenten die Wahl zwischen dem Intel Core i5-6200U und dem Intel Core i7-6500U. Beide Varianten setzen auf die neue Intel Skylake Architektur, ULV-Eigenschaften und zwei Rechenkerne (Dual Core).HP hat heute auch seine günstigen Stream Notebooks, die sich kurz und knapp als Chromebooks mit Windows 10 beschreiben lassen, überarbeitet. Die neuen Stream 11- und Stream 13-Modelle warten sowohl mit einem flacheren Chassis als auch längerer Akkulaufzeit auf und werden darüber hinaus noch in frischen Farbvarianten erhältlich sein. Ab Mitte Oktober soll es die verbesserte Stream Line-up laut Hersteller in Deutschland zu kaufen geben. Die überarbeiteten Stream-Notebooks mit ihren 11,6 oder 13,3 Zoll großen Displays verkauft HP demnächst in den Farbvarianten Kobaltblau und Violett, das Stream 11 wird es außerdem auch noch in Aschsilber (oder einfach in Grau) geben. Der 11-Zöller bringt 1,18 Kilogramm auf die Waage und soll nun Akkulaufzeiten von bis zu 10,5 Stunden erreichen, das Stream 13 hingegen wiegt unveränderte 1,55 Kilogramm und soll mit einer Akkuladung nun 8,5 Stunden durchhalten. Die Bildschirmauflösung bleibt bei allen Modellen bei 1366 x 768 Pixel, die 13-Zoll-Variante gibt es nun aber auch mit Touchscreen. Der interne eMMC-Flash-Speicher bietet eine Kapazität von nur 32 Gigabyte, kann aber dank microSD-Kartenslot zusätzlich erweitert werden. Neben Windows 10 Home erhalten Käufer der Stream-Geräte auch 1 Terabyte Cloud-Speicher bei OneDrive, die genau wie die 60 Minuten Skype-Gesprächsguthaben Teil des kostenlos mitgelieferten 1-Jahresabos für Office 365 Personal sind.

Deutlich stylischer, aber auch preisintensiver geht es beim HP Spectre x2 zu. Der Hersteller selbst spricht vom dünnsten und leichtesten 2-in-1 Modell, welches sie je gebaut haben. Das Gehäuse besteht aus einem Aluminium-Unibody und einem ebenso metallischen, normalgroßen Keyboard. Das Display ist mit 12 Zoll größer als beim kleinen HP x2 und auch der Intel Core M3 6Y30 bzw. Intel Core M7 6Y75 ist leistungsstärker aufgestellt. Zwar wird die Akkulaufzeit hier nur mit 11 Stunden angegeben, dafür profitiert das HP Spectre x2 von einer 256 GB großen M.2 SSD und Modulen für WWAN und 4G LTE. Es ist mit einer Bauhöhe von 8 bis 13,35 Millimeter zudem schlanker als ein Ultrabook und wiegt zwischen 850 Gramm und 1,2 kg. Ähnlich wie beim Microsoft Surface Tablet setzt HP auf einen Kickstand im so genannten U-Shape. Dafür müssen Interessenten allerdings mindestens 1.299 Euro für das Tablet ausgeben.
