Popular music and dance festival going from strength to strength

Every year in August Twinwood Events stage what is probably one of the biggest events of its kind in Europe to pay homage to a time when Rock ‘n Roll, Swing, the Big Band and similar music styles caused the crowds to take to dance floors and parties all over the world. It has been described as the Ultimate Vintage Festival for Music & Dance, and it is easy to understand why.
The event is extremely well organised with great accommodation, shopping and great fun opportunities, also for your children in a safe environment. This event has become a must for lovers of the music and party style of those that want to revisit yesteryear. It is truly a retro event that brings back the music, fashions and dance styles of the past
The festival is about breaking away for a few days over the bank holiday weekend and to relax with family, friends and your kids. In addition to some great bands and acts that perform right through the weekend, there are other fun opportunities such as a Mr and Miss Vintage competition, for instance.
There are also dance lessons for those who are interested, and wonderful opportunities to visit displays and museums every year. The emphasis is on all things vintage and retro, such as fashion, hairstyling, antique pieces and a World War One Display, for example. Accommodation is available to suit all budgets, from glamping to parking your car and caravan. Food stalls, shopping and mixing with friends and strangers alike make for a memorable weekend – every year.
As Ms Annie Wooding, the Festival’s Creative Director said at a recent press conference, “Twinwood Events are known to organise some great events every year, with the Twinwood Vintage Festival for Dance & Music most likely the one that stands out for those visitors who enjoy a true retro event, when we go back in time to the previous century when Swing and Rock ‘n Roll a la Elvis and his contemporaries set the scene for all dance functions.
“We have found that not only visitors who were around in the 40’s and 50’s support us: their children and the young ones are equally enthusiastic. So, if you love the sound of early rock and the big bands, be sure to tick off the August Bank Holiday Weekend on your calendar. It is popular and tickets are often sold out well in advance.”
Have yourself transported back to a time when swing and rock ‘n roll were the choice of party goers and fun seekers.

Twinwood Events are based in Clapham Bedford from where we organise various events every year, the most important one being the well-known Twinwood Festival which is steeped in history going back to the days of the famous Glenn Miller and his Orchestra who performed all over the world. The Festival is normally held over a bank holiday weekend and features a line-up that includes various well-known performers from different genres such as Swing, Rock-and-Roll, Northern Soul and other Vintage Music and Dance performers. Different venues include the Twinwood Arena, the Dance Marquee, the Colonial Club and the Control Tower Stage. Accommodation can be booked and food and drinks bought from different eateries to sit down or eat-as-you-go options. Tickets are bought online or over the phone and visitors are advised to book well in advance. For more about us please visit https://twinwoodevents.com/
