Do you wish to transform your children's bedroom? Forget about changing the furniture or buying more decorations; a very fast and effective transformation can be provided by installing some kids wall decals.

These are very similar to textile wallpapers, only that they are made from vinyl and can be manufactured in much smaller sizes; wallpapers made from fabrics are usually designed to cover an entire wall, not just some parts of it.

Kids wall decals come in a variety of designs, colors and textures. Obviously, the most popular are those featuring cartoon characters, animals, plants, artists, cars, sports teams, and images of large cities or famous monuments.

Some wall decals can be customized to feature any image desired by the buyer, and also have any size he wants. It is recommended that buyers have their wall stickers made to order, at least in terms of size, to make sure they match the space they have to adorn.

Installing wall stickers is very straightforward. Vinyl decals can be applied on virtually any surface, as long as it is smooth. They come on a transfer sheet, so it is easy for the buyer to apply them. Moreover, they come with a step-by-step installation guide.

To install a wall sticker, first you have to be certain there is no dust or dirt on the surface where you want to apply the sticker. Use a special cleaner and get rid of the grease accumulated on the surface. If the surface allows you, use water to clean it, then wait for the area to dry.

Then, start to unwrap the decal. If it is large, it would not hurt to get some help from a friend or family member. Before applying the wal decal, make sure you hold it in the right position. Decals that feature nature images, cars, cartoon characters or any other image that is not abstract have a specific position in which they have to be placed.

The decal has to be installed from left to right or from right to left, or from its upper part to the lower part, or vice versa, never from both sides at once. By doing so, you would avoid air bubbles that normally form when the decal does not cover the wall surface perfectly.

If, after applying the decal, but before completing this operation, you still believe that some air bubbles have been formed, get a ruler and press the decal to remove the air. This has to be done by a firm hand, since the decal can get stretched.

The final stage of this procedure refers to letting the decal dry for several minutes, according to the manufacturer’s instructions. If other and much smaller decals are waiting to be placed on top of the large decal that has just been installed, they can be installed only when the large decal is completely dry.
