Five types of ships are available & Carrier may be set as reward

There are five types of ships--Destroyer, Submarine, Carrier, Battleship, and Transport. These all counter a specific threat. There hasn’t been any information about Carrier in PTS, but Watcher indicated that as long as players reach level 3, they may get a carrier. And to reach the level, players will need to complete a certain number of tasks to escalate their shipyards. The carrier is the best ship of all the cool ones, so it maybe a kind of reward for those players who take long-term effort in shipyards.

Less naval missions with more rewards than that of Followers

Similar to Garrison Followers, you can send Ships out on missions (Naval Missions for Ships), and each ship has a different kind of abilities to utilize. However, naval missions will be more concentrated and compact. In Garrison Followers, all of the followers are usually sent out for a large number of missions. But in your shipyard, missions will be much less, while it grants you more rewards for every mission. Of course, high rewards inevitably accompanied by high risk, it won’t be so easy for players to get 100% success of the naval missions. Besides, when the mission failed, it can cause the risk of shipwrecks. So cheap wow gold and other wow items may be needed to gear up.

Those sinkable ships won’t be reparable again

Watcher has indicated shipwrecks won’t often happen, but almost all players will inevitably encounter this situation with failure of missions. What’s worse, the ship that has been sunk is reparable. The only choice is to develop the other one. Fortunately, upgrade an epic quality of the ship is much easier than developing a follower, so players don't need to take shipwrecks as a too big blow.

A new supply, Oil will be required in shipyards

Sending ships on missions and upgrading your Shipyard doesn't require Garrison Resources, but you need to stockpile a new supply: Oil outside the field on your own. Most of the Oil on Draenor is found in Tanaan Jungle, the new high-level zone being introduced with Patch 6.2.

PVP contents may be added into Shipyards in the future

As we all know, things will be less appealing without new features. Take Garrison for an example, it is interesting to upgrade buildings and develop followers in Garrison, but after a period of time, it tends to lag on unchangeable contents. Thus, players think that pvp, such as, a naval battle between players and players, should be added for shipyard. Although this content won’t be completed in patch 6.2, Ion indicated that it is a cool point. And trying to provide new experience for players is actually Blizzards’ intention of designing shipyard, so it is not impossible to expect for a naval PVP!
