In the past, GEEO has offered Nepal on its list of destinations to which teachers can choose to travel. Now, GEEO is supporting relief efforts to assist victims of the recent Nepal earthquake.

Jesse Weisz, director of Global Exploration for Educators, knew when he heard the news from Nepal about the recent devastating earthquake that he had to do something to help his friends. "We have traveled to Nepal as part of our teacher trips in the past," notes Weisz, "and it was important for us to show our support of these friends."

Weisz has made it possible for teachers who have enjoyed travel to Nepal in the past with GEEO to donate to relief efforts for the Nepalese. According to Weisz's Facebook page, "I am sure you have all been following the news coming out of Nepal closely. It is one of my favorite places in the world and I feel terrible for the hardships that Nepalese people have already endured. The coming months will only be more difficult with many people homeless and the monsoon on its way. I imagine many of you would like to donate money to help with the relief work in Nepal. As someone who runs a non-profit and has a lot of friends who work in the industry, I always worry about how much of my money will actually go to help the people who need the help.
