Skillcapes were updated and the new ones came out yesterday. However, there is a heated discussion arising with the appearance of new skillcapes. Many players complain about the color schemes, width, shoulder pads, low detail image and other characters of new skillcapes, while only a small number of players appreciate the hoods which can be attached on cape after updating. What are Skillcapes and its update?

Skillcape is a cape that symbolizes achieving the highest possible level in a particular skill (120 in the case of Dungeoneering, 99 for others; however, virtual levels extend all the way up to 120) or the completion of every quest. In order to gain a skillcape and enjoy the highest accomplishment, some players may need to come to rsorder and buy old school runescape gold or other items to help them level up quickly

What do most players think about the new skillcapes?

Although some players love the hoods of new skillcapes, they face a lot of disapprovals from others players as soon as they appear. Among all reasons, color schemes and the width of cape are the most important reasons why many players cannot accept the new skillcapes. Many players don’t like the new color and ask for reverting to the older one. For example, some players think the blue Fishing cape looks too dark, and changing color of Divination cape is betraying the community's decision. As for the width, players think it is too narrow to cover on and should be wider. Except for biggest reasons above, shoulder pads, low detail image and no-angle are also important points that players hope to change.

How to deal with the problem on new skillcapes?

In order to provide better experience for players, Jagex continuously provides many updates. Though most players don’t like the new skillcapes, they appreciate the cool hood during this update. Besides, to get improvement, a thread is launched on the Runescape forums to collect feedback on the update.
