New Features Heavensward Brings



1. Flying Mounts

Yoshida announced that new expansion will bring new flying mounts, including black Chocobos, dragons, and griffins. Besides, he also said that eventually players will be able to own their own airships. You'll be able to take off, fly, and land anywhere you want in the new Heavensward zones, but not in older areas.



2. New Jobs

Heavensward will also bring three new job classes to the table: the tank class dark knight, healing class astrologian, and gun-wielding ranged attacker the machinist. Among those, Dark Knight means to tank for a party and it can wield a two-handed great sword. Players will have access to the Dark Knight as soon as they buy the expansion, and it won't require a base class.

In additional, it will bring a new race called the Au Ra, new gear and recipes, raise the level cap to 60, and introduce new primals, dungeons, and high-level raids.



Pre-order Final Fantasy XIV



Final Fantasy XIV is available to pre-order in North America from March 16. There are three editions of the expansion to choose from, including a collector’s edition, standard edition and a bundle. Pre-ordering any version of the title grants players several in-game items and access to the game ahead of the official launch. Early access is scheduled to start on June 19.

However, Heavensward will require players to have completed the main scenario of A Realm Reborn. Thus, if you are urged to finish that before the release, just buy some Final Fantasy XIV Gil.
