Every FIFA fan has been there, as your opponent deploys a powerful, pacy striker and runs roughshod all over your carefully selected team consisting of some of the best players on the game. Somehow, even the best defenders are left useless in face of sheer speed and strength even if there is a huge gap in their actual ratings. Welcome to FIFA 15, where tactics go out of the window and physical attributes rule supreme.
In this latest version of EA Sports’ incredibly popular series, speed alone can allow you to utterly dominate opponents even if they’re controlling the likes of Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich or Premier League champions Manchester City. The right combination of physical stats combined with decent finishing or passing ability can produce extremely difficult players for teams to defend against.
For many footballers, their FIFA 15 avatar reflects the player’s effectiveness in real life. The likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi are, rightly so, devastating in both real life and in the virtual world. But not all players are created equal. Some are far better than their real life counterparts, playing well above their perceived ability, allowing them to carve a trail of destruction through opposing defences. The biggest offenders are highlighted here, individuals that inspire rage, fear and more than a few hurled controllers across the room. Like Gold4fans facebook for Free FIFA 15 coins now

10. Andre Schurrle (Chelsea)

Nicknamed the poor man’s Eden Hazard, Andre Schurrle’s generous distribution of stats sees him end up with 92 acceleration, 88 long shots, 86 dribbling, 86 agility and 85 sprint speed to make the German one of the most well-rounded wingers in the game. With a low cost of around 4000 coins, the Chelsea star is an excellent addition to any Ultimate Team looking for a goalscoring wide forward.
But it’s FIFA 15’s decision to give the Chelsea star a four-star skill rating that pushes Schurrle firmly into the overpowered category. In the right hands and positioned on the left of a three-man attack, the winger poses a serious threat to any defence with an incredible range of flicks and tricks as well as the ability to finish off sweeping moves.
The German is quick, strong, skillful, and most of all, deadly, which makes a mockery of his benchwarmer status at Chelsea under Jose Mourinho, having started just five games so far in 2014/15.
9. Nedum Onuoha (QPR)

The sole defender on this list, Queens Park Rangers’ Nedum Onuoha earned his place on this list thanks to just two physical statistics. A man mountain in defence, his 89 sprint speed and 84 defence means he can simply line up alongside forwards and muscle them off the ball every time.
Onuoha’s success in FIFA 15 despite having only two of his stats above 75 is testament to the dominance of strength and sprint speed scores. Placing the former Manchester City youth product at the heart of your defence is a sure-fire way of preventing goals in Ultimate Team, providing an excellent stop gap until you can afford more expensive defenders.
The Englishman’s success runs counter to his real life alter ego, who continues to struggle with the rest of his QPR teammates in the Premier League under the leadership of Harry Redknapp. Despite that, Onuoha’s overpowered status as a defender means he’s a perfect counter for just about everyone else on this list.
8. Yassine Chikhaoui (FC Zurich)

The first of many overpowered strikers in this list, Yassine Chikhaoui possesses a heady mix of technique and pace well beyond his real life ability, making the Tunisian a force to be reckoned with in Ultimate Team, despite his somewhat difficult chemistry.
In fact, Chikhaoui’s meagre 75 overall rating is simply due to his woeful defensive stats, whereas his attacking prowess puts him among the better strikers in the game thanks to 91 agility, 87 dribbling, 86 ball control and 86 sprint speed. Indeed, his only flaw is a relatively poor 70 finishing which leaves much to be desired.
But the jewel in Chikhaoui’s crown is a quite frankly incredible five-star rating in both weak foot and skill moves. To put that in perspective, Zlatan Ibrahimovic only has four stars in the latter. Yes, that’s Zlatan of the many bicycle kicks and back-heels.
And he costs, on average, just 750 coins in Ultimate Team. Well, what are you waiting for?
7. Vincent Aboubakar (FC Porto)

A classic of the series, Vincent Aboubakar continues to forge a legend in FIFA 15 as one of the most feared strikers on the game. Now at FC Porto, the Cameroon star combines 87 sprint speed, 82 acceleration and 84 strength with a modest 79 finishing to devastate defences.
However, this year’s version has been checked by FIFA boffins to reflect his actual ability, which has triggered his slide down the rankings from past seasons. There are now more worthy contenders for your Ultimate Team or Career Mode side, but Aboubakar remains a solid option if all else fails.
In contrast to his FIFA success, Aboubakar has failed to set the world alight in his six years as a professional, currently plying his trade as backup to Jackson Martinez at the Portuguese giants.
6. Fredy Guarin (Inter)

Another rare non-attacker, Inter centre midfielder Fredy Guarin rarely excels in Serie A in reality but has become a must-have bargain buy in Ultimate Team due to his sheer all-round ability. 80 plus scores in key areas such as short passing, stamina, strength, ball control and dribbling is reinforced by 70 plus scores in just about everything else.
A lack of weaknesses in his repertoire means that Guarin stands as one of the best midfield generals on the game, surging from box to box, contributing heavily to both attack and defence. In fact, the Colombian is almost capable on holding the midfield on his own, and partnered with another top class midfielder, is pretty much near unstoppable.
Not bad at all for a man seen as a jack-of-all-trades, filling in where needed rather than a mainstay of the team. Indeed, Guarin has often been utilised as a second striker under Walter Mazzari in 2014/15.
5. Christian Benteke (Aston Villa)

Despite a host of injuries and loss of form, Christian Benteke continues to terrify defenders with his sheer aerial presence and goalscoring prowess. Boasting stats such as 92 strength, 84 heading ability, and 82 finishing, the Aston Villa man is the closest thing to a human wrecking ball in FIFA 15.
Combined with a top class winger, Benteke is one of the most potent aerial threats in the game, exploiting the ease of crossed goals. The striker’s dominance belies his real life struggles in recent years however, although there is hope that the Aston Villa man can restore himself to his former glory and reach the heights that once saw him linked with just about every big club going.
4. Victor Ibarbo (Cagliari)

The king may have lost his crown, but Ibarbo still possesses one of the most destructive skill sets in the game. The Colombian was once the most feared striker in the series, but EA Sports’ decision to lower certain stats has resulted in the striker dropping out of favour.
3. Emmanuel Emenike (Fenerbahce)

Another FIFA favourite, Emmanuel Emenike has come to represent the powerful, pacey striker courtesy of his awe-inspiring physical statistics as well as excellent finishing ability. 90 strength, 89 acceleration, 87 sprint speed and 85 shot power outlines just how hard the Nigerian is to handle, striking fear into defenders everywhere.
2. Ahmed Musa (CSKA Moscow)

One of the rising stars of Nigerian football, Ahmed Musa uses his pace to devastate opposing fullbacks and it’s no different in FIFA 15, where his 95 acceleration, 92 sprint speed and 90 agility belies his lowly 75 overall rating. In real life, lacklustre technique means the CSKA Moscow winger has found his level in the Russian Premier League.
1. Seydou Doumbia (CSKA Moscow)

In real life, Seydou Doumbia is forging a modest career with Russian Premier League champions CSKA Moscow, having notched 61 goals in 95 appearances since joining in 2010. In FIFA 15 however, the Ivorian is the bane of defenders everywhere, with 94 sprint speed, 94 stamina, 91 acceleration, 86 dribbling and 86 finishing.
