The expansion pack, called "Elemental Evil," will be available for Xbox One gamers for free on September 8 and "combines content from four expansions," according to the same IGN report. The four expansions include "Elemental Evil," "Fury of the Feywild," "Shadowmantle" and :"Curse of Icewind Dale."

With this expansion pack, the game is expected to have a level cap increase and the introduction of a new playable class called the Oathbound Paladin. This new playable class is added on to the 5 classes already available in the game. New adventure zones, four end-game campaigns and extra in-game dungeons will also be included.

This is good news for the two million or so players already registered on "Neverwinter" since its launch on the Xbox early this year. Those who want to avail of the free downloadable content are required to have an active Xbox LIVE subscription.

The game is based on the classic role-playing board game, "Dungeons & Dragons." Players choose which one of the following character classes they will be playing: Cleric, Wizard, Weapon Fighter, Guardian Fighter and Trickster Rogue, and they can form groups of up to five playable characters.

"Neverwinter" has received good reviews since its release. An IGN review called it one of "finest free-to-play MMORPGs on consoles to date."

The game was developed by Cryptic Studios and published by Perfect World. Aside from the Xbox One console version, it also has versions for the PS4 and PC. The game was first released for the PC, but it regained popularity when the Xbox version came out in March 2015.

The reason for “Elemental Evil” being such an expansive new addition is because it will in essence be condensing content from four different expansions into one super-sized offering, according to IGN.

Elemental Evil will be coming to Neverwinter Online on Xbox One in September with new achievements and fixes, apparently including fixes for the game’s existing achievements.

There will be new adventure zones this time around since Elemental Evil contains updates from Fury of the Feywild, Shadowmantle and Cast of Icewind Dale which all released on PC. In addition to new content, this update will also continue to bring quality-of-life improvements to the constantly evolving MMORPG.

Neverwinter is a free-to-play action MMORPG that features fast-paced combat and epic dungeons.
