It happens to many people and sometimes it gets really out of control. How many times did you find yourself in the situation of waking up in the morning planning to eat healthier and look away from nasty treats? At the end of the day, you could not reach your goal and you still managed to fall back in the trap. At some point, stress and emotions get in the way and they make you eat without realising it even. It is called emotional eating and unfortunately, too many people are dealing with it on a daily basis. So what can be done to stop food addiction.?
Some people might think food addiction. is a strong concept and does not apply to them, but in reality, numbers say something different. Even if you are munching on treats now and then, you can’t manage to stop when you would like and it affects your overall mood and your life. Let’s face it, after you finish eating, you often end up feeling disappointed of yourself, ashamed and guilty, not to mention frustrated that you were not able to keep them away. Emotional eating is triggered by emotions and perhaps not the ones you have at the moment, but even those bottled up emotions that you did not know you even have.
No matter how many diets you start, you are not able to lose weight if you are not able to stick to them. Even though there are many diet programs out there that claim to be the best and guarantee results, they will not lose weight for you. Sticking to a diet plan is the hardest indeed, especially with so many temptations around and so many cravings. This is part of food addiction. When you have the desire to lose weight, you need to be committed and responsible, but in the same time you have to be emotionally prepared. Weight loss trainers know how much emotional eating affects people’s lives.
They are able to work with their trainees not only by suggesting what to eat and what exercises to perform, but how to deal with their emotions and mental blocks. The concept might be new to some or even surprising, but when you have struggled to lose weight all your life and you were never able to follow a specific diet plan, you should investigate the problem further. Why do you eat when you are feeling stressed, depressed, bored, sad, anxious and such? Perhaps you fear change and on a subconscious level maybe you don’t want to lose weight and this blocks you from actually achieving the goal and put an end to food addiction.
Once you are able to find out your subconscious blocks, you can finally lose weight and not by giving up food entirely, but by realising you don’t need those unhealthy treats anymore, even if it is about chocolate cookies, soda, chips, ice cream or such. If it does sound appealing, first of all you should discover if you are emotional eating. You can do this by taking a quiz that is usually provided by the weight loss coach. After you see the results, you will find out more about aspects you were not aware of.
