What is VHS?
VHS stands for Video Home System that was the older method in which recordings were done and stored in magnetic tapes and were poor quality. They were played with the help of special video players. There were many other versions that were made later on like VCR, 8mm tapes, hi8, BETAMAX, etc. VHS was developed by Victor Company of Japan in 1970 and it quickly gained recognition throughout all parts of the world.
Why Digitalise VHS?
VHS had poor quality images and wasn’t durable or long-lasting. Moreover, they used to get damaged easily from dust and moisture and were rendered useless. But in modern times due to various technological advancements, we have better video formats that have better quality and are long-lasting than VHS. Also, they are highly portable and are easy to use. They are also cheaper and are smaller in size. Some of the examples of digital media storages are DVD, USB and media formats are Mp4, Mpeg, etc.
