New Apparel Company Helps Educate Youth about Black History, While Helping to Finance the Education of Underprivileged Children in Africa

Black Legacy, a t-shirt shop launched featuring commemorative Black history t-shirts, announced today the official launch of its online store. The company, whose motto is “wear your legacy proudly,” aims to be more than just an apparel company by educating youth and inspiring them with stories of great Black leaders and heroes and the crucial events that have shaped the history of Black people worldwide.

The company’s Black Power collection features t-shirts that depict the images of historical figures including Toussaint Louverture, Malcolm X, Martin Luther King, Jr. and the iconic black power salute by Tommie Smith and John Carlos, an act of protest during the 1968 Olympic Games.

The company’s Black Culture collection features images that showcase everything that makes the culture unique, including imagery from Blaxploitation movies. The company’s Pan-Africanism collection reinforces the importance of solidarity among Africans worldwide.

In addition to Black Legacy’s t-shirt collections, the company aims to educate youth with its informative blog that details the Haitian Slave Revolution, the American Civil Rights Movement and other important historical events. The company also donates 10 percent of all profits to SOS Africa, a U.K.-based grass roots organization that funds the education of underprivileged African children.
