Bengaluru, Karnataka – March 26th, 2024: South United Football Club (SUFC) showcased its unwavering commitment to promoting women’s football and community engagement by fervently celebrating the AFC Women’s Football Day at its Ulsoor facility in Bengaluru and the Ganga Legends Sports Complex in Pune. These events, held on March 2nd, 2024, not only demonstrated SUFC’s dedication to fostering gender equality but also highlighted its efforts in nurturing players and building inclusive communities through the beautiful game.

In Bengaluru, the Ulsoor facility buzzed with energy as aspiring girls from the SUFC Academy led the charge, supported by their families and relatives. Additionally, women associated with Cult.Fit-Multifit Gym, Tagda Raho, and Maverick and Farmer Coffee actively participated, championing the cause of women’s health and wellness. Prerana Dhawan, SUFC’s CMO and COO, expressed her delight in contributing to AFC Women’s Football Day and reiterated the Club’s commitment to providing ample opportunities for women to excel both on and off the field.

The celebration in Bengaluru featured a diverse range of engaging activities meticulously planned by SUFC’s coaches. From games like Football Tic Tac Toe to other football-inspired challenges such as Flip the Marker and Football Golf, participants of all ages found themselves immersed in spirited competition. Notably, a 7-a-side football match between parents and children showcased the region’s growing interest in and support for women’s football. This vibrant celebration underscored SUFC’s core values of nurturing, inclusivity, and community building, reaffirming its position as a driving force in promoting women in football in Bengaluru.

Similarly, in Pune, SUFC marked the day with an equally spirited celebration at the Ganga Legends Sports Complex in Bavdhan. The event saw enthusiastic participation from talented girls of the SUFC Academy, their families, and members of the Ganga Legends Society. Notably, Mai Bal Bhavan, an NGO for the visually impaired, also joined in, advocating for increased participation of women in sports.

Prerana Dhawan reiterated SUFC’s dedication to promoting gender equality and social inclusion, emphasizing the importance of events like these in fostering young players and building strong communities. The day featured eight engaging events, carefully curated to bring girls and women together in a spirit of camaraderie and competition. Through these activities, SUFC showcased its commitment to players’ development and inclusivity, further solidifying its position as a catalyst for positive change in Pune’s footballing landscape.
