The wealth of properties owned by Disney--and thus, fodder for its Disney Infinity series--is staggering, but no doubt one of the biggest is Star Wars. The franchise may be the next to be brought into the digital world of Infinity, if a tease from the game's developer is any indication.
As part of an interview with Newsarama, developer Avalanche Software CEO John Blackburn and Infinity executive producer John Vignocchi talked about teasing future content. Vignocchi said, "My favorite character is one that has not yet been announced. It's a female character. A Disney character. And we will not tell retail who it is for a very long time in order to keep it a secret!" This prompted Blackburn to say, "I like your other tease better: 'We can talk about the future, but that's far, far away.'" In response, Vignocchi said, "2015 is not so far, far away anymore, is it?"
Subtle as it is, the two were clearly referencing the opening crawl from the Star Wars films, which sets up their story as taking place "[a] long time ago in a galaxy far, far away…."
Infinity is Disney's Skylanders-like series that consists of Swtor2credit.com a game and collectable, physical figurines that can be used to unlock in-game content. It has already expanded beyond its original scope of content from Disney and Pixar properties like Cars, The Incredibles, and Pirates of the Caribbean--the upcoming entry in the series, Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes, introduces content from the Marvel universe. Some of the figures that will be available for the game, which launches in September, include Iron Man, The Hulk, and Captain America.
If you're not already a fan of Infinity, would Star Wars content be enough to get you interested in a future Infinity game? What figures would you most want to get your hands on? Let us know in the comments below.
