Eugene, OR - Software Development Resource releases a free alternative to WAV converters with their very own version of a fully built WAV to MP3 converter software. With their standing tradition of simplicity and functionality, the program comes with their trademark easy to use drag and drop capability with a user interface that even beginners would be able to handle with relative ease. It only currently supports WAV files for conversion into the more supported MP3 format.

What's with WAV?

WAV file format is an interbred format released by Microsoft and IBM's cooperation in 1991 which resulted in its inception. It is pronounced as WAVE and stands for Waveform Audio Format.

It is currently the main format for raw, uncompressed audio files in the Windows environment and built not just for Windows PCs. IBM also made it compatible with the Apple and Linux environments due to its bitstream format close to the AIFF and 8SVX technology [used by QuickTime] so it can also be used under the Amiga and Macintosh computers.

On the other hand, MP3 is the current de facto standard in most audio digital playback players for either online or online platforms. Mp3 is largely an audio-file strict format unlike its .mp4 successor. Given its popularity, widespread support for this format is also omnipresent.

With this compatibility, SDR has thought of a customized solution to give way for users unfamiliar to the WAV file format and let them play it with ease with their chosen native media players regardless of OS environment by introducing their free WAV to MP3 converter.

Most converters in the market comes with a fee but packed with limited capability unlike SDR's version.
