It is amazing the correlations that exist with those that have dysfunctional thought processes and severe health problems. The opposite is also apparent to a degree. Those with severe health issues can also experience negative thought processes and depressive natures.

While this is a fairly obvious two way street the time it has taken to get to this level of awareness does not make sense. The importance of a healthy body and mind of everyone is all that matters. Happiness is the removal of the shackles of our lives for varying amounts of time. The longer we can stay in this frame of mind the healthier we become.

The future of positive psychology is a "healthy" one. As technology improves we are seeing more and more the power of the relationship between mind and body. "Sham" surgeries are a great example of this. It would not surprise me if that down the track the greatest medicine we will ever receive is "mind medicine". The stories of those beating even the most relentless illnesses through the power of positive psychology are coming through in many forms of media. Science is giving us the tools to unravel the secrets that we have really known for centuries, the mind is the key.

If you were to analyse the amount of conscious time you don't spend on your mind or body it would not surprise me that if it was less than one hour a day. Try to engage in at least one activity per day that is somehow linked to improving your mind and body. A perfect down to make this resolution is the when you are not feeling too great.
