City officials and council members met in midtown Manhattan recently to make changes to the water distribution system and roadway improvements along North Avenue. The $231 million project includes more than fourteen miles of new sewer and water mains, along with a street makeover, freeing up spaces for bikes and walkers.

The Department of Environmental Protection and the Department of Design and Construction rebuilt 650,000 square feet of roadway along with sidewalks and curbs as part of the project with eighteen thousand feet of water mains and more than five thousand feet of sewers.
