A few classes from Diablo IV's classes while not technically new but haven't been played in quite some time. The Rogue is back from the original Diablo and is a mix between Diablo's Amazon and Assassin classes. It's also the Druid from Diablo also returns. All three of Diablo's categories--such as the Barbarian, Sorceress, and Necromancer- have been present used in Diablo, III, and Diablo Immortal.
Diablo community director Adam Fletcher recently confirmed the plan is to eventually sell premium expansions for Diablo IV (in in addition to the cosmetics available through an in-game shop), meaning it's certainly possible that new classes will be included in the game after launch. Diablo Immortal is slated to have new classes coming in as free updates. Players have already reportedly analyzed one potential franchise-first class, known as the Blood Knight.
Diablo IV is scheduled to come out in 2023, following the departure of the game's former director who was in place until 2021. which came in the wake of various cases and investigations that revolved around an alleged sexual discrimination and harassment at Activision Blizzard. If Diablo IV does release, it will allow cross-play and crossing-progression across consoles as well as PC.
This is the first confirmation that Diablo IV will feature microtransactions in the game and an in-game shop of some sort, while assuring that Blizzard's next entry in the RPG franchise will be taking a live-serviceapproach, with a seasonal focus.
News of the fact that Diablo IV will have an in-game store has some fans of the series concerned , especially considering the recent release of Blizzard's free-to-play Mobile game Diablo Immortal, which is also accessible on PC with interplay and cross-progression between different platforms. Diablo Immortal has been heavily condemned for the various microtransactions it offers.
