Agave Nectar Manufacturer Nectave to Expand Capacity for Higher Exports

Posted July 6, 2023 by Nectave

USA: One of the top players in the sweetener industry, Nectave is expanding its capacity and will focus more on bulk sales of Agave nectar and Agave syrup

The exponential growth of the Agave syrup market is driven by the appeal of natural and organic food products with the market size heading towards $2.2 billion by 2027.

The penetration of agave syrup in many new markets displacing refined sugar as a health-friendly product and its moderate agave syrup calories have been driving demand tremendously.

According to the CEO, wholesale agave nectar is the new buzz in the market. The perceived health benefits are driving the market. They include its low glycemic index, making it suitable for diabetic patients and also for those trying to balance their blood sugar levels.

Bulk buyers of agave syrup belong to many industries. The biggest end user is the F&B (food and beverage) industry which uses the product as a sweetener in several products, including energy drinks, alcoholic beverages, bakery products, and flavored water.

According to the CEO wholesale agave nectar demand is growing fast as buyers love the perks including discounts, ease of procuring full truck or half truck load of agave nectar on factory prices, faster delivery, and big savings in freight costs.

Food experts confirm that one tablespoon of agave syrup has around 60 calories and it scores over sugar as a diabetic-friendly sweetener with no threat of spiking blood sugar levels, unlike refined sugar.
There are many additional attractions too; it is a vegan syrup and gluten-free with a special flavor. The cosmetic industry is also catching up in its usage of agave nectar, as an ingredient in skincare products using its moisturizing properties.

As part of capacity expansion, Nectave will be adding more plantations of Blue Weber agave. Normally, it takes 7 years for plans to reach maturity for juice extraction. Apart from Agave syrup, there are by-products such as Agave powder, Agave inulin, or Tequila.

On the health care benefits front, Agave syrup is 1.4 times sweeter than refined sugar yet the carbohydrate content is too low. Its lower Glycemic Index makes it release energy gradually in the body without any surge of blood sugar.

A low Glycemic Index also increases good cholesterol and cuts triglycerides fats. Overall, agave syrup gets applause for its potential to reduce the risk of cardiac problems and obesity.

The CEO observed that the North American market for agave syrup is driven by the rising health consciousness among consumers who want to use it as a natural sweetener.

In Europe, the preference for organic and natural food products is enhancing the demand. In Asia Pacific markets the selling point is the Agave syrup’s health benefits.
