The event started with an inaugural ceremony attended by dignitaries of Madhya Pradesh including the Chief Minister, Secretary Madhya Pradesh Tourism and many more.The ceremony hosted cultural performances and dance with an underlying message of saving the River Narmada, and later on an exhibition displaying one of the largest painting made on River Narmada. The painting holds 51 tiles, illustrating the course of the Narmada in Madhya Pradesh.
In its efforts to make the state known for its adventure tourism too, Madhya Pradesh Tourism reconditioned the unexplored and untouched Hanuwantiya Island and turned it into a small city in itself! A tent city, where people can rejuvenate and relax while at the same time be adventurous! The activities are divided into air, land and water activities.
In a short span of time, Jal Mahotsav has become a very important event of Madhya Pradesh Tourism. More and more people are coming over to Jal Mahotsav to discover a completely new face of the state. All kinds of air, land and water activities arranged for in this carnival, are its major attractions. This eighty day long fiesta has promised its guests a stay full of adventure and adrenaline.
