Leading up to the 3rd Annual LatAm HR in Energy, conference sponsors - Priority Pass and The Boston Consulting Group spoke about their participation at the conference, and contribution towards the industry.

As the LatAm HR community in energy industry is facing issues such as Employee Retention, Talent Shortage and Skill Gap in the current economic slow down; The 3rd Annual LatAm HR in Energy, taking place on 23rd and 24th of September at Windsor Atlantica Hotel, Rio De Janerio – Brazil, aims at providing a platform to the HR professionals to evaluate different strategies to focus on these prevailing challenges and seek new avenues for sustainable growth.

According to Anna Moreno Damico, Marketing Manager at The Boston Consulting Group (Associate Sponsor) ,“BCG has designed and implemented a workforce planning methodology for an Integrated Oil & Gas company, with over 100,000 workforce, while leveraging benchmarks to push commitment to productivity gains. As a result, the new methodology: 1) increased exponentially the level of granularity in workforce projection vs. previous approach: split of workforce demand by ~50 organization units and ~400 processes; and 2) yielded a workforce need of ~11,500 people below the previous methodology, avoiding billions of dollars in costs.”

The Boston Consulting Group, will be presenting an exclusive session, titled “Strategic Workforce Planning for Large National Oil Company in LatAm “ wherein Thiago Cardoso, Principal at BCG, along with Lairton Correa, HR Manager from Petrobras, will address the ways to plan a workforce for the next 5 years in a scenario of drastic need of optimization.

Jorge Enriquez, Business Development Manager :Latin America -Priority Pass ( Lunch Sponsor) will be discussing the ways to control and reduce costs while improving the employees' travel journey and retaining and attracting talent to positions that require frequent travel, in his presentation at the conference.

In the words of Enriquez, “According to studies by Occupational and Environmental Medicine, Carlson Wagonlit and SHRM, employees that travel regularly for business are more likely to submit significantly more health claims, lose almost 7 hours per trip and eventually, when they burn out, replacing them will cost companies between 90% to 200% of their salary”.

Priority Pass, launched in 1992, was founded with an objective of providing frequent travelers with airport lounge access, irrespective of their class of travel, airline flown or existing membership in an airline loyalty program. Priority Pass has become the world's largest independent airport lounge access program. In 2015, they work with over 700 lounges in 400 cities in over 120 countries in every continent of the world.

Industry experts from renowned energy companies such as Petrobras, Eletrobras, Vale, CPFL Energy will also be sharing their thoughts on current issues related to Employee Retention, Employee Engagement, Crisis Management, Leadership Excellence and Knowledge Transfer to name a few.
