NGV summit to move to Dubai venue in 2015

The second edition of NGV summit will take place in Dubai with an extended program apart from just discussing the need of NGV in UAE.
 
12 October 2015, Dubai, UAE : UAE's decision to deregulate petrol prices has stimulated environmentalists for an energy efficient UAE, thus encouraging individuals to adopt fuel efficient vehicles. (Source : Emirates 24 | 7). Since 2010 the authority has converted 3,350 vehicles including 2,000 taxis to CNG from petrol in Abu Dhabi. In Dubai, Sharjah and Ajman have total of 150 vehicles have been switched to CNG so far.

According to Mahir Al Sayed Ali, Manager at the Abu Dhabi Technical Services Centre of Emirates Transport, by the end of 2015 the infrastructure is to comprise 25 operational stations, a rise by 3 from the current 22, 16 of which are in Abu Dhabi, 4 in Sharjah and 2 in Al Ain. In line with sustainable development priorities set by Abu Dhabi Vision 2030 and as highlighted in the UAE State of Energy Report 2015, an integrated distribution network for efficient supply is needed to help develop the NGV industry in UAE and meet the current & future energy needs of the region.

Endorsed by NGVA Europe & NGV Global and Supported by Cedigaz, 2nd Middle East City Gas & NGV Summit set to take place in Dubai from 8 – 9 December 2015 will showcase the initiatives undertaken with respect to, ensuring a state-of-the art gas distribution network and also address the need to guarantee capacity building for the infrastructure that has been developed. Emirates Transport is lending its support to the summit as NGV partner.

The past edition witnessed an overwhelming response of over 100 attendees contributing to the success of the event. The event was supported by Emirates Gas. This year's summit will bring together regional and international industry experts sharing their knowledge on integrated gas-distribution networks, GIS for gas-distribution, smart gas grids, warranty acceptance after conversion of vehicles to NGV, homologation process for OEM NGV.
