Industry Leaders brainstorms on new strategies, innovation and effective cooperation with international investors aiming for strong and sustainable PPP project development in the LatAm region.

17 January 2016, Colombia :The region of Latin America has the potential to become a formidable global economic force. The main area of struggle for the second most urbanized continent (80% urbanization rate)1 lies in the lack of infrastructure. The current investments into infrastructure are calculated as insufficient. Currently investing a regional average of 2-3% of GDP into infrastructure, Latin America would require a minimal amount of 5-6% of GDP for the investments to be considered gap-closing.

The pressing need to bring more infrastructure projects to fruition, especially by utilizing public-private partnerships, is a regional priority. The market for these partnerships has been improving. According to recent studies, the average overall PPP- readiness score for the region has risen by 29% between 2009 and 2014 (from 32.9 to 42.5)2.

As it stands, the Latin-American region is on the verge of a very active and exciting transition. Realizing the developmental potential in the region, The Latin American Public-Private Partnerships and Concessions Summit 2016 aims to bring the most advanced knowledge regarding PPP projects and concessions in order to maximize their efficiency in terms of time and cost and outline the region's regulatory landscape.

Taking place on 8 -10 March 2016, in Bogota-Colombia, this conference brings together industry peers in PPP projects and concessions – ministries, municipalities & governmental institutions, construction, infrastructure, transport companies, financial institutions and more.

The conference will create an open and multilateral platform for discussions and brainstorming on the most crucial issues in the industry such as regulatory updates, sessions focusing on specific Latin-American regions, inspiring best PPP practices from Europe and North America as well as a practical workshop on SWOT and STEP analysis.
