A brand-new mobile application for updating Geographic Information Systems (GIS) has been presented by the corporation.
A number of capabilities in the GIS mobile app are intended to update the GIS database in real-time. Users may quickly look for assets by location, asset code, work ID, or address.

Users may quickly look for assets by location, asset code, work ID, or address. The user may update or report asset/field status by choosing one or more GIS layers, such as a transmission network, land base, or distribution network, without overwhelming the screen with information.

With the help of the real-time redlining capability, planned changes may be seamlessly incorporated utilizing the GE Small World database and symbology. This includes modifying an existing HV, MV, or LT network as well as adding new assets like poles, transformers, service lines, buildings, and structures. Users may estimate distances between two or more sites using the app’s effective navigation and routing tools on Google Maps.

“GIS is a constantly evolving platform that requires frequent updates to maintain its effectiveness. With ongoing changes in the land base, network expansions, and the addition of new consumers, keeping the GIS database up-to-date is essential. Our new mobile application simplifies data sustenance, and we are thrilled to provide this empowering tool to our dedicated employees” said Amit Garg, CEO of TPSODL

The GIS mobile software helps maintenance personnel by making it easier to document field survey observations, such as drooping lines, skewed buildings, missing lightning arresters, or worn-out isolator blades. These records will be essential for organizing maintenance tasks for those particular assets that will increase efficiency and dependability.

The launch of this new GIS mobile app reaffirms TPSODL’s dedication to embracing technology innovations in order to elevate its power distribution services, increase efficiency, guarantee data accuracy, and ultimately improve the experience for customers. In keeping with its goal to provide the Southern Odisha region with a dependable and high-quality power supply, the firm is committed to innovation and ongoing development.
