I grew up on the WoW RP server so it's not too surprising that the city was bustling. FFXIV is a completely new kind of role-playing. It's just a bunch of people socializing and having a blast. This is what makes it different.

A few weeks ago I was reading through and came across a few posts on limsa's afkers. I decided to stop by to check it out since once you hit around level 61 the og city states start disappearing in the story.

So I decided to go by to check if it was as famous as the posts claim. My jaw fell, and my frames instantly fell. Limsa is the only spot where my frames fall below 120. I also forgot how close the market in Limsa was and have it as a place to do all my shopping. I'll be spending time between runs , just sitting and listening to bards or chatting about ridiculous shit that's happening nowadays.

There are end-gamers who want to get away from limsa due to the fact that they do not like wading through a crowd of people for a trip to the markets however, I think it's worth it. Since switching, I've been right in the middle of the action and was able to stop to think "omg that song is mine!"

I've actually quit ESO to join FXiv. ESO is such a shambles, I would not recommend it. Every area of the game is similar. There were also issues with microtransactions thrown in your face. Also, the "make your own class" thing.
