The Skyscrapers & Prefab India Summit has begun today, 24 July at the Leela in Mumbai, India. Participants are expected to get an overview of cutting edge strategies and technologies that catalyze the growth of skyscrapers in India. 19 distinguished speakers from all over India are to share perespectives on wind engineering, structural designing, project management, urbanization opportunities, green buildings and much more.
The conference opened with two keynote sessions from Lalit Kumar Jain, Chairman of CREDAI and CMD of Kumar Builders followed by Raj Pillai, Executive Director of Sobha Developers Ltd. Jain presented a session on urbanization and its opportunities and challenges, Pillai focused on the factors that make the essence of Building Skyscrapers in India. Pillai is also the Chairman at the conference today. Following a special felicitation ceremony of the partners at the event, Satish Bhujbal, Director of Kalpataru Limited highlighted on the relationship of integrating architecture & structural designs of skyscrapers.
Speaking from a service providers perspective on wind engineering for skyscrapers was Tony Rofail, Director at Windtech Consultants who are also the Bronze Sponsors for the event. Case studies at the event included the Bhendi Bazaar Project by Qutub Mandviwala, owner of Mandviwala Qutub and Associates, and a look into High Rise Development by Prakash Gaur, VP of Gujrat International Finance Teccity, scheduled for later today.
Post lunch sessions will witness speakers Pradip Bangaali CEO of HSB Realtors & Adv. Yusuf Abrahani, Chairman of MHADA – Mumbai Chapter. The conference will conclude with an open forum on reality of Indian realty vs Global Stability moderated by Raj Pillai and Satish Bhujbal.
Day two will witness keynote sessions on the Role of Government in Construction of Skyscrapers presented by Rajnikant Ajmera, Chairman & Managing Director of Ajmera Realty & Infra India Ltd. Special address will be given by Neerav Parmar, Chairman of BAI Mumbai Chapter and Vagish Sharma, of National Skill Development Corporation. Sessions will also include speakers from Kirby Building Systems and Elematic (Bronze Sponsors) and Geberit (Association Sponsor).
Rajendra Kumar, Founder & Principal Architect at Rajendra Kumar & Associates, S. P. Anchuri, Vice President of Indian Association of Structural Engineers, Rajat Malhotra, COO of JLL and TAK Mathews, Principal Consultant of TAK Consulting will also be presenting. A keynote on techno legal issues related to the regulatory environment for skyscrapers by Vasudevan Suresh, Vice Chairman of National Building Code of India is also scheduled.
