Summit to provide an ideal platform for security leaders to come together and explore the latest technological advances in energy

More than $1.6 trillion was invested in 2013 in energy supply, a figure that has more than doubled in real terms since 2000, and a further $130 billion to improve energy efficiency. With constant growth of oil and gas production across the Middle East and African region, approximately $316 billion will be invested per year in the energy infrastructure to meet the increasing demands.

According to a recent market research report, over a 100 projects worth $32.7 billion have been initiated in the water and renewable energy sector in the Middle East region. These investments will have a huge impact on the Middle East's regional security dynamics. The ongoing domestic changes will also stimulate the region's security parameters in a substantial manner.

With political and economic reformations occurring in the region, it has become imperative for energy leaders to secure the Middle East energy perimeter. Given the ongoing global information revolution, cyber security is another major concern for the energy industry. The conceivable future geopolitical scenarios again raise a question for the future energy security perspective. With the risk of attacks to the regions energy assets and infrastructure is prevalent now more than ever, the security spending in the energy sector is expected to increase dramatically.

Addressing these and other major energy security issues faced by the Middle East region today, Fleming Gulf returns with the 11th edition of the Middle East Energy Security Summit, taking place at the Le Royal Meridian, Abu Dhabi - UAE from the 21 to 23 April, 2015.

The summit will create an avenue for global security professionals to discuss the latest strategies and technologies which can be implemented to effectively mitigate threats. With a rich history of 10 successful editions in different countries in the middle east, the forum continues to provide an ideal platform for security leaders to come together and explore the latest technological advances in the sector and offer unique networking opportunities for industry peers.

The forum will feature sessions, presentations, case studies and workshops focused on formulating innovative and sustainable means of ensuring stability and growth in the energy security sector.
