How far can technology change go in helping mining companies raise operational margins, drive productivity and cut costs? Mining innovators from CODELCO, BHP Billiton, Cochilco, Griffin Coal Mining, Kairos Mining, Hochschild Mining, Newmont, CSIRO and the Center for Excellence in Mining Innovation will share first hand experiences on the subject at the 5th Annual Global Mining Technology Forum in October.
Marco Orellana, CIO of the world's largest copper producer – CODELCO, will deliver the keynote address at the forum where he will throw light on the CODELCO Digital vision. Orellana will be joined by other notable speakers; Douglas Morrison (President & CEO, Chair in Holistic Mining Practices, The Centre for Excellence in Mining Innovation ), Dr Andreas Rompel (Country Manager, Hochschild Mining), Jorge Brown (Principal Engineer- Drill & Blast, BHP Billiton) and Javier Aránguiz (Mining Director (P), COCHILCO) to name a few.
Taking place from 6-8 October at the Sheraton Santiago Hotel and Convention Centre, the forum will address a wide spectrum of next generation technologies for operational mobility, optimized drilling and blasting, ecological footprint reduction, efficient open cut mining, fibre communication networks, energy and water saving, collision avoidance and rescue operations amongst others. In depth discussions on automation and telerobotics, and innovations to revive the future of ageing and deep mines will also be be a focus of the forum.
Attendees will partake in exclusive plenary sessions, keynotes, panels and case studies and networking dedicated to further the advent of new technology implementation in the global mining sector.
