Conference discussing the current developments of the converting & polymer industry in Saudi Arabia

The 2nd Annual Kingdom Polymers & Plastics Forum to focus on conversion and processing sectors.
 
90 percent of plastics conversion of GCC is concentrated in Saudi Arabia, spread across five industrial parks, making the conversion industry a vital part of the region’s development strategy. Elaborating on ways to enable downstream industries through dedicated parks, Eng. Ali F. Al Fuhid, Investment Specialist from Royal Commission of Jubail and Yanbu, will present a keynote address at the 2nd Kingdom & Polymers & Plastics Forum. He will talk about the opportunities and governments support to facilitate growth in conversion industry.

Addressing current developments in converting industry, Slim Zeghal, CEO at Altea Packaging will expand on latest innovations that will incite growth in the industry. Slim will also explain the market size, challenges, solutions and potential for growth in the region. Saudi Arabia leads the region’s plastics industry with over 74.5% of the region’s plastics production capacity. Discussing how plastics industry will add value in the value chain, General Manager, Maher Sulaimi from SIG Combibloc Obeikan will focus on future of plastics industry in Saudi Arabia and how the region aims to diversify its product portfolio, increasing employment opportunities.

The attendees will also be apprised by industry experts from Green Kingdom Industries, Nabaa Al-Wessal Company, Schuetz, RAK Therm, Saudi Plastics Factory, King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals, Almarai Company, Triomada Plastics Inc., Rowad Plastics Group, Society of Plastics Engineers, SIPCHEM, Mattex Group and Saudi Plastics Factory. In association with AHK Saudi Arabia and recognized by IOM3 for professional development, the 2nd Annual Kingdom Polymers & Plastics Forum is scheduled to take place on 20-22 October at Sofitel Al Khobar the Corniche, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The conference will bring together industry experts from petrochemical companies, plastic convertors and processors, polymer compounding and manufacturers.
