[Northville, 07/14/2017] — The Michigan Academy of Taekwondo, a martial arts center in Northville, offers taekwondo programs for all ages. Individuals enrolling in the center’s taekwondo classes can expect to learn self-defense, get in great shape, relieve stress, and gain good character traits such as confidence, respect, focus, and discipline.

Teaching Life Skills

The kids’ martial arts program ensures that students not only have fun. They also learn important life lessons from role model instructors. The center accomplishes this by focusing on these three major areas:
• Confidence – The instructors will teach kids proper posture, voice projection, and good eye contact.
• Athletic Fundamentals – Children will develop flexibility, coordination, strength, agility, and balance to help them become more confident and capable during gym class and other athletic activities.
• Character – Through constant repetition of drills during training, kids will develop character skills such as self-esteem, courtesy, and discipline.

Helping Teenagers Transition to Adult Life

The teen martial arts program, on the other hand, gives teenagers the opportunity to learn good martial arts while enabling them to establish meaningful friendships under positive role model instructors.

Moreover, the program will teach teens life skills, such as time management, work ethic, and discipline, that will help them transition to life as a college student and adult.

Keeping Adults Fit

The center’s martial arts programs help adults stay healthy while learning essential self-defense skills.

On top of the regular adult martial arts classes, adult members can take advantage of these two drop-in classes for free: a Fitness Class (Tuesdays at 7:15PM) and a Self-Defense Class (Saturdays at 9:00AM).
