Ein großer Punkt ist natürlich, dass ich meinen Alltag mit Apple Produkten extrem gut optimiert habe. Ich fahre nun sogar Backups über die Apple AirPort Time Capsule und nutze diese auch als Router zu Hause. Welche Apps und Kniffe ich besonders beim iPhone 5s und unter Apple iOS 7 mag, dass habe ich bereits im viertel Teil der Switch to Apple Serie beschrieben, die ich an dieser Stelle gerne empfehle. Doch kommen wir zu dem Grund, warum ich dem Galaxy S5, One M8 und Xperia Z2 nicht nachweine.Der größte Kritikpunkt am neuen Galaxy ist wohl erneut die Verarbeitung. Wenn ich mehr als 600 Euro für ein Smartphone ausgebe, dann erwarte ich Perfektion und hochwertige Materialien - kein Plastik. Viele Nutzer reden sich das ganze schön, weil sie sich das Galaxy S5 mit Vertrag kaufen und somit nicht auf einen Schlag einen Batzen Geld auf den Tisch legen müssen, sondern über 24 Monate hinweg vom Provider ausgenommen werden. Am Ende zahlen sie wahrscheinlich noch mehr als die UVP hergibt. Aber gut, die Vertragspreise mit Apple iPhones sind auch kein Schnäppchen.

Hinzu kommt, dass mir die TouchWiz-Oberfläche für Google Android nicht zusagt und der Fingerabdruck-Sensor nicht so gut funktioniert wie Apples TouchID. Das komplette Spektrum an Samsung Software-Features und Samsung-Apps habe ich nie gern verwendet. Mehr Spielerei als Nutzen. Und den Pulsmesser an der Rückseite brauche ich nicht. Als Fitness-Tracker nutze ich eh das UP24-Armband von Jawbone. Auch der hoch angepriesenen Kamera das Galaxy S5 konnte ich nichts abgewinnen. Schöne Aufnahmen gibts da auch nur bei guten Lichtverhältnissen und die simple Menüführung bei der iPhone 5s Kamera spricht mich mehr an, da ich eh meist die Automatik verwende.Der einzige Mehrwert beim Samsung Galaxy S5 wäre für mich der größere Bildschirm und die FullHD-Auflösung samt AMOLED-Technik. In Sachen Leistung liegen iPhone 5s und die neuen Android-Flaggschiffe eh nahezu gleich auf.

Das Rennen um den Android-Smartphone-Thron hat Sony mit dem Xperia Z2 etwas verschlafen. Konnten doch Samsung Galaxy S5 und HTC One M8 bereits Wochen zuvor die Kunden mit einer flächendeckenden Lieferbarkeit für sich gewinnen. Zudem hängt bei mir immer ein gewisses Geschmäckle durch, dass mich negativ an die Vorgänger Xperia Z und Xperia Z1 erinnert. Display-Qualität wurde hier nämlich nicht gerade groß geschrieben. Und das ist mir bei einem Smartphone besonders wichtig.Verbesserungen gewünscht: Power hat das Xperia Z2, aber am Design muss noch gearbeitet werden. In Hinsicht auf das Design bin ich auch skeptisch. Ja, es ist schön dünn und haptisch machen die Glas-Oberflächen und der Alu-Rahmen auch etwas her. Das Konzept erinnert stark an das iPhone 4. Aber was bitte hat sich Sony beim Design der Front gedacht? Der Display-Rahmen erinnert mich immer an Produkte aus den 90er Jahren. Kennt ihr noch diese V-Tech Lerncomputer für Kinder, die riesig waren und dann ein Mini-Display besaßen? Irgendwie macht dieses Phänomen das Sony Xperia Z2 altmodisch. Man hätte da mal ins Lager von HTC, Samsung und LG schauen sollen. Die haben das deutlich besser gelöst, wenn auch nicht immer so perfekt. Aber hätte man nun grundlegend neu Hand angelegt an das Design des Xperia Z2, würde man sich ja eingestehen, dass die alten Modelle in Sachen Aufmachung schlecht wären. Schade eigentlich, dass sich da kein kreativer Kopf durchsetzen konnte.
