Foxconn produziert schon seit langer Zeit Smartphones, auch die iPhone-Serie.Die französische Webseite iGen.fr hat nun vermeintliche interne Fotos von Foxconn veröffentlicht, die die Spezifikationen beider Varianten darstellen. Die Aufnahmen zeigen dabei das bekannte Design mit den recht auffälligen und breiten Streifen auf der Rückseite, für einen möglichst guten Funkempfang. Aufgrund der hohen Anzahl an Bildern die das iPhone 6 mit diesem Design zeigen, ist inzwischen davon auszugehen, dass das finale Modell tatsächlich so aussehen oder zumindest doch sehr ähnlich gestaltet sein wird.

Laut den Bildern soll das 4,7-Zoll Modell des iPhone 6 138 mm lang, 66 mm breit und 6,9 mm tief sein. Das Gewicht wird nicht gelistet, im Vergleich dazu bringt es das iPhone 5s auf 123 x 58 x 7,6 mm. Das größere iPhone mit 5,5-Zoll Display soll die Maße 158 x 78 x 7,1 mm aufweisen, bezieht man die hervorstehende Linse mit ein, wären es 7,7 mm. Das Gewicht soll bei 184,6 Gramm liegen und der Akku eine Kapazität von 2.915 mAh aufweisen.Ein exklusiver Report bei Reuters deutet obendrein an, dass die Hersteller der Displays des kommenden iPhone 6 mit einigen Problemen zu kämpfen haben. So soll die Produktion im Juni und Juli zum Teil stillgestanden sein, da die Hintergrundbeleuchtung nicht korrekt integriert werden konnte oder zumindest nicht den Ansprüchen von Apple gerecht wurde. Ob diese Probleme für eine verzögerte Auslieferung oder zumindest eine geringere Erstauslieferungsmenge sorgen könnten ist indes noch nicht bekannt. Die offizielle Vorstellung des iPhone 6 wird am Dienstag, den 9. September 2014 erfolgen.

Einen anderen fast unbemerkten Hinweis enthält die WiFi-Zertifizierung des HTC Volantis aka Google Nexus 9 dennoch und das ist der mögliche Name von Android L. Bisher geht man davon aus, dass die nächste große Android-Version erneut nach einer Süßspeise benannt wird, wie es bisher immer seit Android 1.5 der Fall gewesen ist. Hinter Android L wird das Kürzel LMP genannt, was für Lemon Meringue Pie stehen soll. Dabei handelt es sich um einen Zitronen-Kuchen mit Baiser-Schicht aus Großbritannien, der auch in den USA und Australien als Nachspeise sehr beliebt ist. Damit dürfte der Name Lollipop aus dem Rennen sein. Unter anderem sollte Android 4.4 KitKat ursprünglich als Key Lime Pie erscheinen. Es war sogar schon das passende Easter Egg und Debugging-Icon implementiert, aber dies wurde kurzfristig wieder geändert. Man vermutete, dass Google diese Taktik zum Verschleiern von KitKat nutzte, um den Werbe-Deal für den Nestlé-Konzern nicht zu gefährden.Wann genau das Nexus 9 zusammen mit einem Nexus 6 und Android L vorgestellt wird von Google ist immer noch ein Rätsel.
