HP spendiert dem Spectre x360 15 einen Refresh. Das 2018er Modell ist mit Intel-Core-Prozessoren der achten Generation bestückt. Bei den Grafikeinheiten besteht die Wahl zwischen einer Radeon RX Vega M und einer Geforce MX150. Die Laufzeit für das Modell mit Vega wird mit zwölf Stunden angegeben, die Geforce-Variante soll bis zu 13,5 Stunden laufen. Dank Schnellladetechnologie könne der Akku in 30 Minuten auf 50 Prozent geladen werden.

Im neuen Spectre x360 steckt im Powerbutton nun ein Fingerabdrucksensor für Windows Hello, zur biometrischen Authentifizierung ist auch eine IR-Kamera verbaut. Außerdem hat HP in seinem zwei Kilogramm schweren Convertible einen Thunderbolt-3-Port und einen numerischen Tastenblock integriert. Unverändert bleibt das Display: Das 15,6-Zoll-IPS-Panel löst mit 4K auf. Das HP Spectre x360 15 wird in Deutschland laut Hersteller ab März 2018 ab 1.699 Euro erhältlich sein.

Asus hat eine weitere Version seines Zenbook 3 (UX331UAL) angekündigt, das mit 985 Gramm unter einem Kilogramm wiegt. Es ist mit Intels aktuellem Core-i7-Intel-Prozessor der achten Generation ausgerüstet und soll eine Akkulaufzeit von bis zu 15 Stunden liefern. Der Arbeitsspeicher ist 16 Gigabyte groß, die PCIe-SSD bietet einen Terabyte Speicher, als GPU steckt ein Geforce MX150 von Nvidia im Aluminium-Gehäuse. Für soliden Sound ist ein Audiosystem von Harman Kardon verbaut. Einen Preis hat Asus für sein schickes 13-Zoll-Notebook noch nicht verlauten lassen.

Für 500 bis 600 Euro gibt es Notebooks, die flott genug für die meisten Alltagsaufgaben sind. „Office-Arbeiten, Bilder und Filme anschauen, im Internet surfen – das geht alles. Das einzige, wo man Abstriche machen muss, sind 3D-Spiele“, sagt Florian Müssig vom Computermagazin c’t. Für aufwendige Spiele seien teure Grafik-Chips nötig, die bei den günstigen tragbaren Computern nicht verbaut werden. Im Technik-Gewirr der Datenblätter finden auch Laien eine wichtige Information ganz schnell: Welcher Prozessor arbeitet im Gerät? In der Regel setzen die Hersteller auf Prozessoren von Intel. „Unsere Faustformel ist, es sollte aktuell mindestens ein Core-i-5 sein. Das ist so die Mittelklasse von Intel“, empfiehlt unser Experte. Core-i-3-Prozessoren seien im Vergleich spürbar langsamer.
