But it is not an unusual thing if are willing to block any of your Gmail contacts. We have assembled here to discuss the steps of the blocking process. For your convenience, Gmail Customer Service has brought forward two blocking methods along with an unblocking process.

How to block a sender manually?

1. Open a message from the sender you want to block
2. Move inside the [More] menu in the message header
3. It will be pointed as a downward (▾) triangle
4. Here you need to look next to the sender's name and picture
5. The [Block Name] option will appear here which is needed to be selected
6. You can apply this rule for those senders whose menu item not appears
7. To do that, you will need to access the [Block This Sender] section
8. It will enable you to select the [Block] button

How to block a sender using a filter?

1. Go to the Gmail search field
2. Click the [Show Search Options] (▾) triangle
3. Open [From] window
4. Type the email address of that sender
5. To block more than one sender, you need to use the vertical bar as the separating line
6. Now you need to click [Create Filter with This Search]
7. Check the [Delete It] under [When a Message Arrives that Matches this Search]
8. Click [Create filter] now

How to unblock a sender?

1. Open a message from the sender you want to block
2. Move inside the [More] menu in the message header
3. It will be pointed as a downward (▾) triangle
4. The [Unblock Name] option will appear here which is needed to be selected
5. Go to the [Unblock this Sender] section
6. Click [Unblock] now

In adherence to the Gmail Toll-free Number, you can unblock a person by hitting the [Settings] icon. A window will appear which will enable you to access the [Filters and Blocked Addresses] section. Check the box appeared as [The Following Senders are Blocked]. Please click [Unblock Selected Senders]. Also, select the [Unblock] button under [Unblock Selected Senders] section. These are two useful ways by which you can unblock a blocked contact. So, you should not be bothered much to block a contact on Gmail if it is necessary. But do block a person only if there is a genuine reason behind it.
