Whenever your trusty grill grill starts looking grungy and working inefficiently, your first thought might be to head out and purchase a new one. However, new grills are costly. At least the good ones are. If you know how to troubleshoot your old grill and fix the things which ail it, you may end up with a grill that is nearly like new without having to spend a great deal of money. In addition, you won't have to get rid of the grill you know so well and have learned to rely on.

One thing that too many people fail to do would be to maintain their grill clean. They might scrape the grate before using it again, but they seldom think about cleaning other parts of the grill. If you take some time to keep them clean, your grill will stay looking nicer considerably longer. Even if you haven't kept it up as you should, a good cleaning isn't going to damage anything. Start with removing the gas tank and all the parts you can. Set out large tubs of warm, soapy water, and let these bits soak for at least an hour. After doing this, it is going to be much easier to wash away the built up grease and grime.

If your grill utilizes lava stones that haven't been replaced in the last year, now's the time to buy new ones. Lava stones that have been used too long won't perform as efficiently as fresh ones. On the inside walls of the grill, then use a spatula or paint scraper to remove any build-up that will come off. Then use your shop vac to pick up the matter that you scraped away. Once the inside and all of the pieces you eliminated are clean and dry, then you can put your grill straight together. Purchase replacement parts should you see anything that's damaged or broken.

Close the grill in order to clean the outside. It is possible to wipe it down using a cleaner and a clean rag. In case you've got a grill with a stainless steel casing, you'll find exceptional cleaners to use on it. You will also need some glass cleaner to wash any windows that your grill might have.

Once you've cleaned up your old grill in this fashion, you may not hardly recognize the old thing. However, you will enjoy being able to have backyard barbecues once more without having to worry about the way your grill appears and functions, and you'll have saved yourself a lot of money.
