Vegetable seeds are the seeds which are used to produce a variety of vegetable, are divided into conventional seeds and hybrid seeds. Vegetable conventional seed is the vegetable itself by the laws of nature to grow out of the seed. As for now, conventional breeding of vegetables has also many problems. First, variety is more and miscellaneous; second, seed and non-seed is similar, and is strong concealment in the production. Hybrid (generally is generation hybrid) seed is through using plants with different characteristics to pollinate them. Advantages of hybrid vegetable seeds are a common phenomenon in the biosphere, using heterosis to increase crop yield and quality is one of the major achievements of modern agriculture science. However, due to the rapid development of vegetables hybrid varieties after the call of science, this makes the vegetable hybrid species be not less than conventional varieties. In general, hybrid vegetable seeds have disease resistance, can quickly adapt to the local climate and environment. This is also one of the purposes of vegetable seeds hybridization. But the ultimate goal is that we hope that hybridization can bring greater economic benefits.
Since hybrid vegetable seeds have messy genetic gene, so we can no longer keep the use of the following year after harvest of vegetables. But the seeds after hybridization have more advantages than common conventional seeds in terms of output and disease resistance and so on. So now most of the professional vegetable growers are using the hybrid vegetable seeds.
