Interessant sind vor allem die Fotos, die die Rückseite des vermeintlichen Pixel-3-Prototypen zeigen: Das Handy besitzt eine zweifarbige Glasrückseite, auf der ein Fingerabdrucksensor untergebracht ist. Oberhalb auf der linken Seite sitzt die Kamera, die überraschenderweise, wie beim Pixel 2, aus nur einer Linse besteht. Das bedeutet jedoch keineswegs, dass das Google Pixel 3 in Sachen Fotografie das Nachsehen haben wird. Den Schwerpunkt des Vorgängers Samsung Gear Sport behält Samsung bei und hat an den Fitness- und Sportfunktionen geschraubt. Die Uhr ist in der Lage, zusätzliche Sportarten zu erkennen. Außerdem lässt sich innerhalb einer Trainingseinheit die Disziplin wechseln und so später sehen, wie viel Kalorien man bei welcher Tätigkeit im Fitnessstudio verbraucht hat. Letzteres funktionierte im Test, auch die automatische Erkennung klappte bei einem zehnminütigen Spaziergang. Schade: Die Schrittzählung ist nicht genau. Die Pulsmessung war im Test hingegen sehr exakt. Dies gilt auch für die Auswertung der Schlafdauer und -qualität. Allerdings trägt sich die Watch unbequem beim Schlafen und leuchtet, wenn man sich bewegt hat.
