I wanted to start a conversation on 2D animation, one of my preferred creative medium. There is no disputing the appeal and adaptability of 2D animation, regardless of your level of experience as an animator, your aspirations as an artist, or just your respect of this art form.
2D animation has a timeless quality unlike many other forms. It combines simplicity with almost infinite imagination. Consider vintage Disney movies, colorful anime, even indie animations. Every frame and stroke captures the animator's feeling and attitude. The way 2D animation communicates stories in such a poignant and interesting manner is what truly appeals to me. It is almost amazing to be able to portray complicated feelings with basic lines and colors.
