Everest Base Camp Trek

Everest Base Camp Trek takes about 15 or 21 days depending on where you begin your trek. If you begin the trek from Jiri (you need to choose 10 hours bus ride from Kathmandu), the entire trek will take you 21 days and if you fly into Lukla from Kathmandu (price US dollar 126), the duration of the trek will be 15 days. The maximum elevation you'll be able to reach is 5545 meters- the Kala Patthar. You can also reach the Everest Base Camp from Gorak Shep, which takes around 3 hours for one way. The best season for trekking is October to December but there are lots of trekkers from March to May and other seasons as well. April and May are popular for mountaineering expeditions to the Mount Everest and Choyu. You can arrange for tea house trekking in the Everest Base Camp Trek. You will need to pay rupees 1,000 (approximately US buck 15) as the national park entry fee.

Helambu Trek

Helambu Trek begins from Sundarijal and finishes in precisely the same place. Or you might end the trek in Melamchi Pul Bazaar if you choose an alternative route from Tarke Gyang.
