Why does Blizzard remove Legion Alpha?
After the raid testing on April 11th, many players must have seen the mess. It quickly turned into a twitch chat memefest after the Alpha servers were incredibly unstable with constant DCs and login/realm issues over the whole 2 hour period that was allocated for that raid testing, with more guilds getting less than 3-4 very short pulls over the 90 minutes. The thread gets a little out of control and in the end it was nothing but harmless memes and spam. Thus, Blizzard decides to remove not only Legion Alpha but even Overwatch beta from a large chunk of the people posting in the 21 page thread.
Players’ attitudes towards it
Some players think that Blizzard is doing a really good job and working hard. They deserve respect while they are working on finishing the development cycle up and players are only here to support them with testing right now. It is not harmless and demonstrated that some people really don’t understand what the purpose of an Alpha is or how to provide polite and constructive feedback.

However, some players hold a different view. The punishment was handed out a bit swiftly. The thread essentially turned into a situation that was entirely on Blizzard’s fault. When technical difficulties happen that prevent testing from running smoothly, the greatest responsibility is to Blizzard who misses out on the feedback they need.
