Complete Communications Limited Plot 9, Alhaji Adenekan Street, Okota-Isolo, Lagos, Nigeria, 19th January 19, 2023- The Nigeria Football Federation has appointed Mr. Joeé Santos Peseiro as the next Super Eagles Coach. The senior men's national team is known as the Super Eagles.
According to NFF spokeswoman Ademola Olajire, the hiring is effective immediately, pending the NFF and Mr. Peseiro finalising the contract for the super eagles coach. Peseiro is set to lead the Super Hawks in an exciting style on their upcoming tour to the United States, where they will compete in vital friendlies against Mexico and Ecuador's "A" Groups.
"The Falcons will tango with the El Tri AT & T Arena in Dallas, Texas on Saturday, May 28th before going to New Jersey to take on Ecuador at the Red Bull Field in Harrison on Thursday, June 2nd," according to the release.
According to the NFF, Salisu Yusuf will be Peseiro's second partner and chief trainer of the CHAN and U23 Public Groups, with former Nigeria international striker Finidi George serving as Peseiro's most noteworthy assistant.
Usman Abdallah is the third teammate, Eboboritse Uwejamomere is the match examiner, and former Nigerian international Ike Shorounmu is the goalkeepers' coach.
José Vitor dos Santos Peseiro, 62, is a Portuguese coach with extensive experience managing major clubs and national teams in Europe, Asia, Africa, and South America.
Among the clubs he has coached are Sporting Lisbon, FC Porto, Panathinaikos, Rapid Bucharest, Sporting Braga, Victoria Guimaraes, Al-Hilal, Al-Wahda, Al-Ahly Cairo, Sharjah FC, and Real Madrid (assistant coach during the Galacticos era). He was the head coach of both the Saudi and Venezuelan national teams. According to his profile, his considerable teaching experience spans four continents, including Europe, Asia, Africa, and South America.
Peseiro is a physical education/sports sciences teacher with a degree. In addition to Sporting Lisbon, FC Porto, Panathinaikos, Rapid Bucharest, Sporting Braga, and Victoria, he has coached at Al-Hilal, Al-Wahda, and Al-Ahly Cairo.
Sharjah FC, Real Madrid (assistant coach during the Galacticos era), Saudi Arabian, and Venezuelan national teams are among his clients.
When announcing the restructure of the Super Eagles coaching staff in February, the NFF noted, "we believe that there may be a chance to work with him in the future."
Peseiro denied claims that he was designated Nigeria's head coach following the verdict.
