Google removed nearly 600 applications from the Play Store for having "annoying" ads, as part of a policy that does not allow advertising to affect the user when using a program on the cell phone.
The company explained that it has teams dedicated to detecting and stopping developers who violate its advertising policies.
Google defines "annoying" ads as those that appear unexpectedly and interrupt what users are doing, it said in a statement.
"While they may appear on the app, some annoying ads we have seen on the rise are ads we consider out of context," the company said. Out-of-context" ads appear on mobile devices when the user is not actually using the application.
In these cases, users can click on ads unintentionally, giving advertisers a head start.
