Grilled: When people think of healthy cooking methods, they often turn to the grill. It is the primitive cooking style that helps the chicken retain the flavor through the smoke and the flavor of the other products placed alongside the vegetables. The grilled chicken retains more vitamins B1 and B2, both of which are essential to help break down fat. It is also beneficial that most grilled food is made with butter than the foods made by other cooking methods.

Poached: The chicken has been submerged in water or other fluids that are at 160F to 180F temperature. At this temperature, the water is just a little bubbly at the surface. According to a book, poaching will be done in water, but broth or wine may substitute for water. Like grilled chicken, this chicken also retains its vitamins and does not dry out. It is easier to make since it just needs to be put in the pan of fluid and left alone.

Boiled: The chicken soup is perhaps the most popular example of boiled chicken and is often used to relieve aliment as the cold. The fluids help to replenish the body, the heat of the spices helps to clear or soothe the throat and sinuses, and the salt may help kill the bacteria in the throat. The boiled chicken is good for sick people since it contains thin mucus in the lungs, making it easier to breathe.

Baked: Baking chicken by itself tends to require fewer oils and butter. Moreover, if the chicken is used as a casserole or pie, it calls for more fattening items. Some baked dishes may be more filling and provide more energy than other foods.

Fried: Consumers sometimes associate frying as the cooking method with fattening and unhealthy, but the amount of carbs and fat in the food is dependent on several factors. The type of oil used may drastically reduce the calorie count on the fried food. The fried chicken obviously had less fat than the fried cheesecake of the same size. For the people trying to lose weight or who are conscious about their health, eating fried chicken must be reserved for special occasions.
