Holden then further urges buyers to apply caution when they opt for tungsten. Only premium quality tungsten is suitable for jewellery making. Yet, sub-standard tungsten pieces saturate the market. These rings will not deliver the same beneficial features as a premium tungsten ring.

So, we had to ask whether they are here to stay. “Yes, I believe tungsten rings will remain a popular choice for many years to come. It isn’t simply a phase which will pass us by as tungsten do deliver several benefits enjoyed in the market place,” Holden says. “That said, I don’t believe that it will perform the same way as precious metal jewellery as a monetary investment. The younger market value different things and this will keep tungsten rings a sought-after item, yet it’s not a precious metal, so you’ll make the investment of purchasing such a ring for different reasons,” Holden states.

Thus, fashion fad? Probably not. Lucrative investment? Well, most likely not.
