ASM Group of Institutes’‘Percept VI – 2018: Case Study Competition for B-School Students’that was held on 15 March 2018 has broken all previous records both in qualitative and content wise performances.
 
ASM Group of Institutes’‘Percept VI – 2018: Case Study Competition for B-School Students’that was held on 15 March 2018 has broken all previous records both in qualitative and content wise performances. The closely contested competition held across 3 ASM institutes simultaneously, witnessed maximum students participating from MBA, PGDM, MMS & MCA branches at ASM’ IBMR, IPS/IIBR in Pune and IMCOST, Thane.

In the inaugural session, Dr.Asha Pachpande (Founder Director), Prof. J.A Kulkarni and Prof. T. Srinivas were present on the dais.After lighting of the lamp, Dr. Asha Pachpande addressed the attendees and mentioned that we are one of the few educational institutes who have implemented 360odegrees case study competition and teaching methodology in our college. Through various competitions both faculty and students as well corporates participate in the development, resolution and presentation of case studies. This type of initiative is unique in India.The case study competition has four objectives:

(1) It increases the analytical abilities like using analytical tools and SWOT analysis,
(2) Development of inter-personal skills i.e. in PERCEPT a group of 3 students have to co-ordinate with each other for presentation.
(3) It helps develops presentation skills
(4) It develops decision making power of the participants.

Further she declared the event open and wished everyone all the best. Other dignitaries on the dais also gave speeches.

There were in all 70 student teams with 3 participants per team to talling to around 200 students across ASM Group of Institutes.The participants exhibited their analytical and problem resolution skills through teamwork and case presentations.Cross campus senior faculty were the juries of the competition that witnessed case studies across all specializations including MBA, PGDM, MMS and MCA course of study.

It was a real marathon of a competition for 6 hours at a stretch at each location. And quite intense for the audience comprising ASM faculty and students with each presentation excelling the other. This also made the task for the jury members demanding and difficult to decide the winners.

In the valedictory session, all participants were presented with certificates of participation by the respective judges. And, the winnersand two runners-up received their respective certificates from Prof. Roopa Praveen.The programme ended with group photos and national anthem.

ASM’s Percept VI – 2018competition in the true sense establishes the 360 approach followed by ASM Group as a part of its unique pedagogy.This approach helps us provide opportunities to each of the stake holders to incorporate the use of case studies as an important and essential tool for experiential learning in business management studies.

Through such process/practice-oriented events, which are integral parts of the ASM EDGE initiative, ASM Group of Institutes ensures better learning and skill development opportunities to its students as also in building better careers ahead with improved employability.
