Author Robert Howard has announced his extraordinary autobiography is now available on Kindle through Amazon’s website.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (Press Release) Sep 14, 2014 -- New Orleans, Louisiana, Sep 14, 2014 -- The book is also available in hardcopy. This amazing account of one man’s spiritual journey takes the reader from the despair experienced in the nation’s most violent prison through the redemption he experienced once he set his foot upon a righteous path.

New Orleans, Louisiana native Howard’s story details how, at the tender young age of fifteen, he was railroaded into Louisiana’s infamous “criminal injustice system”, without the benefit of adequate legal counsel. Once in the system, Howard was left there to fend for himself, as have so many young African-American men. Through the use of imagery and epic storytelling, Howard explains in no uncertain terms, how the violent, vicious and unexpected turns an inmate’s life often takes during a prison stint can change a man. The book is a most interesting work of literary art, in that it weaves a tale that seems so sinister and raw, into something beautiful and genuine.

After learning how to survive in and navigate the politics of Angola State Penitentiary, Howard became a solid leader, basically “running” the prison from inside out. It was once he learned the truth of the will of God, that he was able focus his mind and heart, in order to harness his true power as a leader, thereby effecting positive change. After reading Howard’s book, it becomes evident that all of the tragedy he dealt with in his younger years was setting him up to be used for something much greater than he ever imagined. He is currently incarcerated in Elayn Hunt Correctional Center in St. Gabriel, Louisiana, where he is serving the remainder of his sentence. By the end of the book, Howard demonstrates not only personal growth, but more importantly, spiritual growth that has caused him to become a driving force in the lives of many men by whom he is surrounded on a daily basis.

The body of work serves as a stellar example of how anyone can not only work through a lifetime of difficult situations, but they can become a leader among their peers, inspiring others to reach new heights. It is also a must-read for any young person who may be making less than positive life choices. If ever there were a cautionary tale against at-risk behavior, this book is it, yet Howard proves to his reader that being a light on a dark path is a goal anyone can achieve and that once they do, they must work to light the paths for those who come behind them.
