FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (Press Release) Oct 1, 2014 -- NEW YORK – Around 40000 suicides happen every year with suicide attempts 25 times that number. Studies also reveal that most people in the military die not in the battle but due to suicides. “Jump”, a film by Eric Larkin is a film that revolves around mental health and suicide. The team announces the premier of the film on October 10th 2014 at New York City marking the occasion of Mental Health Awareness Day. This is a short film about a man standing on a bridge, having an intrusive conversation with his own thoughts. The story is an allegory of Sigmund Freud’s theory on how the ego and super ego play in real life.

The film aims at removing the stigma of mental health by conversing about it. LukeInternet, an electronic musician will perform the score live at the event to make this a meaningful event. The team is also launching a campaign - #I Need to Talk, which allows people to confess, talk, erase the stigma and get help. This epic event will also have members from the mental health and faith community in LIC and Queens to support the cause and offer discounted and free consultations. There will be a brief dialogue about mental health, poems and prose from suicide survivors. The night would be dedicated to those who have lost their lives due to this disease.
