How do country shows work?

Country shows are a good way to put artisans, food manufacturers and entertainers together with people who love traditions.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (Press Release) Feb 28, 2015 -- Nowadays, when technology seems to take over, it is important to remember that we also have traditions to respect and appreciate. And where can we show our respect better, if not at a country show, where artisans, food manufacturers and entertainers get in touch with people who still appreciate homemade products, healthy food items brought directly from farms, and live music?

To participate in country shows, vendors have to first register and book a stall where they would be able to display their products. The booking should be done months before the event, to allow country show organisers to plan the event the right way. To book a stall that usually consists of a table and two chairs, vendors need to pay a certain fee. This fee is entirely or partially forfeited, in case the vendor cancels their participation.

All country shows are advertised by their organisers. This means that most vendors who participate in such events need to apply for a stall at the country show. However, some vendors who are regular at such events can be invited by country show organisers. Regular vendors have the advantage of selecting the space where they will exhibit their merchandise. The same advantage is held by early bookers, too. Vendors who apply for a stall a month before the event do not usually have too many choices to make and they need to deal with the space provided by the organisers.

Because the need for homemade products has significantly increased over the past few years, craft fairs are now more popular than ever. In the past, people did not have too many stores to buy products from and most of the products were homemade anyway. This included both food and non-food products. Nowadays, supermarkets and general stores sell anything but homemade products, therefore the need for this kind of products has increased.

Craft fairs are organised in locations known by everyone and where both vendors and visitors can safely park their vehicles. Taking into account that a craft fair may last for several days, it is important for vendors to benefit from a safe parking lot, where to park their cars. In many cases, their own cars are also storage containers, storing the products that vendors hope to sell at the craft fair.

Country show organisers are those who promote the event online and offline. However, it would not hurt an extra hand, meaning that vendors could promote the show, as well. For this, they need to create an online presence and profiles on the most important social networking websites, post ads in newspapers and magazines, and spread the word about their upcoming exhibition at a country show.
